It's oval, and it's made of metal and has silver plating. It has floral and bird designs on the outside. It has a hinged lid, and there is a small handle on the top for ease of opening. The inside is lined with a luscious red velvet-like fabric, and the bottom has green felt to protect whatever it's set on. There is considerable tarnishing and/or wear through the silver plating on the box, and there is one small spot on the lining of the underside of the lid where there is a tiny fabric fray.
