It's a square lidded trinket box made from wood. The bottom and interior have been painted brown. The top and sides are decorated with the repousse technique. Repousse is a metalworking technique where metal is hammered from the back side to create low relief designs. This box features silver tone repousse with fleur de lis designs. This is an old, well loved piece so it does have some blemishes. One edge the metal edge has folded over on its self a bit, there are some marks and paint chips on the bottom, and part of an old sticker or piece of tape on the top. There is also a mark on the under side of the lid. Please see all photos for condition. Great as a unique gift!
